Client
Klara and Brandon run a successful van rental service in Maui, HI. To help market their rental company, they post beautiful content on Maui attractions on their company Instagram page.
Project Goals
After building a solid following on Instagram from these frequent Maui adventure posts, the couple decided they’d rather share their content on their own website instead.
With plans to fully document all amazing Maui attractions, they needed something more involved than a simple Instagram post. Beyond a better platform to display their unique content, they also needed the ability to create posts themselves.
What Was Done
- Given the client’s inexperience with web development, I built their site on WordPress, an easy-to-learn CMS (content management system).
- After selecting a suitable theme, I customized the layout to their specifications, including newsletter integration, custom sliders for featured posts, and more.
- To help our client transition to WordPress, I built them structure outlines to follow when writing content. In addition to a numbered list blog format, I built a more complex page for outdoor activity write-ups, such as hiking trail reviews.
- For site maintenance, I created several guides and video explanations on how to: update plugins/theme files, create new homepage sliders, insert images in posts, etc.
